UltraBit Platinum-Plus™

Where the Quality of the Stylus Vinyl Interface Directly Affects the Quality of the Music

New improved Optical Impedance Matching™ treatment for all laser-read media and Reduced Friction Technology for Vinyl™ (RFTV)

And yes you read correctly, UltraBit Platinum-Plus (USP-P) is the first product ever that enhances the playback and fidelity of both laser-read media and vinyl and shellac (Bakelite) records!

Reduced Friction Technology

The law of the conservation of energy states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed.  A turntable motor imparts energy to the turntable’s platter, mat, record clamp, and the vinyl record.  The energy of the motor is either converted to friction (heat) between the stylus and the groove of the vinyl record, or is converted to energy that’s dissipated by the tone arm, turntable base, and the movement of the cantilever and ultimately the sound  we hear.  The movement of the stylus is converted (transduced) into an electrical signal that’s ultimately converted back into the mechanical energy (sound) of the speakers that produce the sound of the recording we hear.  And because with the use of UBP-P more of the energy becomes sound rather than heat-friction the resulting sound will be louder and more defined with a much wider and deeper soundstage.  UltraBit Platinum-Plus reduces friction between stylus and vinyl and also coats the stylus and functions as a stylus treatment.  It can also be directly applied to the stylus whether or not it's applied to the record.  Less friction = less heat  = more sound = more music.  And less heat with less stylus mistracking = longer groove and stylus life, so which would you prefer, more heat or more sound?  UBP-P is free of petroleum solvents, water based, and safe for use with all vinyl and shellac records.

Optical Impedance Matching Technology

We at Digital Systems & Solutions believe that in many ways UltraBit Platinum-Plus a very substantial improvement in musicality over UtraBit Platinum™ (UBP).  Firstly, UBP-P is water based and has almost no odor.  Secondly, it’s only applied to the playing/recording of the disc one time with one squirt and takes only 10 to 15 seconds to apply and buff.  Some users will also want to apply CleanDisc™ (Cd) to the disc’s label  to remove any static charge and CleanDisc to the disc’s inner and outer edges (rims) but don’t apply UBP-P to the disc’s edges.  Thirdly, and most important, I and my beta testers think that in many instances it’s dramatically better that UltraBit Platinum™(UBP) and that much of the improved musicality is immediately audible*.  It will sell for $87 rather than the $65 that UBP sold for but instead of treating 500 discs it will treat approximate 850 to 1,000 discs so instead of costing 13 cents per treatment it costs at most 10.25 cents per treatment.  In addition because vinyl records require more UBP-P, there’s now a 4-ounce bottle that’s double the amount of UBP-P, but less that 50% higher priced at $129 than the 2-ounce bottle at $87.  That brings down the cost per application of UBP-P to 7.6 cents to as low as 6.5 cents, which benefits those who apply it to laser-read media as well.  We’ve raised the no questions asked money back guaranty from $5 to $10 for UBP-P plus the purchase price and shipping both ways.  A copy of a CD or compilation disc that has both the original CD(s) and CD-R treated with UBP-P before burning has such an amazing improvement that using the resultant CD-Rs in demonstrations will almost be like cheating because they may sound so much different and better than any other laser-read media.  The UBP-P kits with CleanDisc™ will now sell for $103 instead of $81 due to the $22 price increase of UBP-P over UBP.  But as usual UBP-P is available separately for the aforementioned $87.  And don’t forget that even though you may only be applying UBP-P the playing/recording surface of a disc if its edges or label has a treatment then that treatment needs to be removed before applying UBP-P.

We understand the concern of all vinyl record users about the potential of long term harm to their very precious vinyl records or styli.  I’ve been working on almost identical formulations from 1988 when I had planed to bring out Finyl the Vinyl Solution™ but although it worked great for me but because I didn’t think that it was quite user friendly enough, so it wasn’t ready for primetime and CDs seemed to be the hot new media on the block I put it on the back burner, so to speak, and instead brought out Finyl the CD Solution™ that’s known as Finyl the Digital Solution™ which was a completely different formulation for CDs only.  I’ve been using various older versions of Finyl the Vinyl Solution on my most beloved vinyl for over 20 years and my vinyl records with 100 to 200 plays are in better condition than most other audiophile’s records with only 10 to 20 plays.  So now that I’ve made it user friendly enough for primetime I can guaranty that it won’t harm vinyl records or styli but to the contrary will very substantially extend their useful life.

P.S. At Music Direct  I spoke with Roger there and he said discs that they were having a hard time copying CD but after the CDs and CD-Rs were treated with your UltraBit Platinum-Plus then copied perfectly, and that L*******n was old hat. Hello George let me tell you a story, last night I had George Harrisons Live in Japan One disc was treated with Artde son we played a song.  Then I cleaned it and retreated it with your UltraBit Platinum-Plus CD cleaner and all three of us not only heard the difference but went from hearing one song to listening through the entire CD.  We all thought the performance was much more organic and natural sounding. George you may put this comment on customer feedback if you wish.

Hello GEORGE it was good speaking with you.  I am looking forwards to using your New CD cleaner and treatment. The one disk I did do with the old vs the L*******n your UltraBit Platinum treatment brought more realism to the performance.I also want to hear how much of a improvement your CD damper does for my system. I am hoping that it will bring greater resolution without changing the perspective of the performance like the the M*******m did.  I want to thank you, and look forwards to using several of your products.

Dear Paul,

Thank you for your very kind words and letting me publish them on the website.  But when I publish them, everyone will know that you and your two friends listened to a CD all the way through.  That means that the three of you will be in danger of losing your official audiophile caring cards because real audiophiles as apposed to music-loving audiophiles don’t listen to CDs all the way through.

Best regards, George

Hi George,

Just a note to let you know that the disc mats are a real winner. I used the red one on my CD system with the wonderful sounding Marantz SA7-S1 and the Blue one on my Sony 5000 ES Blue-Ray DVD player.

I have not found a down side except you must take a few seconds to make sure that you center or off center the mat about a touch, due to the force of my door closing when I use it with the Marantz SA7. I have compensated for this and loading is 100% perfect.

The first CD I tried was the Beatles remastered Yellow Submarine. It sounded just fine before after using your Ultra Platinum (I just received the UltraBit Platinum-Plus) spray; something I have used for years now, so I figured a slight change for the better or perhaps for the worse. You just never know.

I hit play selected track 3 Eleanor Rigby it took perhaps 10 seconds too say hold on here, what do we have here? Vocals just jumped out with clarity and weight, transparency, dynamics, overtones, bass definition, bass impact, all better, but most of all you just wanted to sit back, RELAX, and enjoy the music.

It sounded just “right” for a loss of better words. I then played “For Duke” M&K Gold CD, now I have owned the original LP and with you red mat, and your Ultra Platinum Plus spray, well I finally forgot about the LP version.

The horns, the Saxes, have such presence that it was scary good just as this recording should be, being direct to disc after all, my Harry James Sheffield Labs 20 bit Gold Discs also had the same improvements. For the first time the CD surpassed the LP, pitch, tones, bass and definition better, I mean it just sound more “right” there is that word again. You cannot fool the ear and our mind, when it sound real we know it!

I put on a Frank Sinatra disc and it sounded so real, but now with no trouble at all you could hear the Capital studio and where they added a touch of reverb to his voice when going through different tracks on his Classics CD vol 1. Which were recorded at different times. I have never heard it this clear and so easy before, like a new-mastered recording! I sat their and just shook my head, and again that RELAXED word came into my head and I enjoyed the whole CD/recording.

Well I started grabbing my test discs that I use when trying a new piece of gear and did not even bother to use Ultra Platinum at first just to see how the mat did on its own.

Well I have to tell you it sounds real, real good, again I found myself just relaxing and enjoying the music. The whole presentation was coherent, imaging superb, and much more detail yet more musical.

After going through them a few times, I then added your Platinum Plus CD treatment, and sure enough things became more focused and micro details came forth a bit better, and much better in every way.

As you the know the mat has two-sides, one shinny, one more textured and both give a different presentation, this is cool because you can match which sides works the best for each CD you play thus improving your enjoyment. The shinny side gives you a more open sound stage and transparency; the textured side a bid more closed in, but in my system stronger and better-defined bass thus the feeling of more body to the music. That is my cup of tea.

However, depending on ones system, gear, and your likes, you have made it nice that one side or the other will work just fine, so you have much more flexibility.

If I were say how much of an improvement, I would have to say it was as if I changed out my CD player, speakers for a much more expensive equipment/speakers. I mean the improvement of the bass, depth and detail would have meant a new set of speakers the improvement is just that large. You have to hear it!

For once, I can say that digital can sound musically satisfying as the very best LP I have owned and all were 1st pressing the best for Sonics for vinyl, as you know.

I never been in the war of which format is better, I say enjoy what you enjoy as long as you enjoy the music, but I can say that digital even 16 bit does not have to take the back seat to any format. You just need to work with it as you would with the LP, right mat, cables, and in the CD players case power cords (ac noise) and a good foundation for the gear to sit on.
On video, the picture looked more colorful, and the audio had the same improvements when using the blue mat, though the red mat worked just fine also, but the blue mat is thinner and worked perfect loading in my Sony 5000 ES Blu Ray player. I am more into audio than video but I have to say watching a DVD was more enjoyable.

The best that can be said is that this product improves the reproduction of recordings and video, the mats and CD treatments are worth every cent asked, and for the improvement a stone cold bargain that is in my experience unheard of for the money spent.

The nice thing about your Mat and Sprays they will improve any system regardless of how much or how little you have spent. I mean really improve; you do not have to sit there and talked yourself into hearing the improvement, it that huge!

Did I find any down side, not really, just learn how to put the mat on to work with your particular player and once you have that down relax and enjoy. In other words, do not be afraid of using this disc with your player, both of my players the space is very tight when the door closes and I have had no issues, if I do not place it right, I just hit open and re-sit the mat and all is fine. But once you know how to place the mat I’ve hit 100% with no reload issues.

George great product, now get the word out, so all who care about “sound” gets 100% out of their system and recorded music collection. You have done recorded music a great service.

Better sound 100% that is for sure
